Ducati Desmosedici Tamiya Kit

Greetings fellow scale model enthusiasts! Today I am bringing to you our first project to be featured from start to finish on the Scale Model Shed. The Ducati 990 Desmosedici kit by Tamiya. MotoGP champion in 2003 and winning several WSBK titles this beautiful bike has a remarkable design that only Ducati could produce.

I am a big fan of Tamiya kits because the quality of the sprues is amazing. There is very little flashing to clean up and the depth of detail is incredible. Having built kits from a variety of suppliers I still find myself going back to Tamiya time and again due to the quality and reliability. The manual is another feature I am well pleased with. The instructions are very clear and provide you with accurate measuraments directly on the page for things like hoses and tubes. Eliminating a lot of guesswork when fitting the model.

One of the standouts of this kit is the decal sheet. Incredibly detailed and clear decals with a lovely carbon fiber texture and gold leaf. Tamiya never disappoints in this regard. Their decals are also plenty resilient when being placed though they sometimes can be a little tough to mould into shape. Having a good decal softener is a must! If you would like to see a detailed breakdown of the kit head on over to our Youtube Channel and check out the video on the Unboxing of the Ducati Desmosedici.
